Philanthropic Service for Institutions (PSI) is a ministry of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists.  PSI supports the financial sustainability and accessibility of Adventist education at K-12 schools, junior academies, and elementary schools. We provide fundraiser training, board seminars, and limited consulting based on best practices. Below is a description of PSI’s key academy initiative–The Model Academy Philanthropy Program.

Model Academy Philanthropy Program 2.0 (Funded Option)

  • 2-Year Grant Funding (Year One $5,000 + Year Two $6,000)
  • 3-year Training Cohort Group
  • Ongoing Virtual Training (Via MS Teams/Zoom)
  • Annual Board Training
  • Periodic Administrative Training
  • Semiannual Site Visits
  • Limited Pool of Independent Consulting Hours

Year 1 training topics include:

  • Every Member Campaigns
  • Strategic Planning
  • Board Campaigns
  • Donor Analytics
  • Budgeting
  • Donor Communications
  • Creating Successful Appeals
  • Managing Alumni Relations
  • Fundraising Committees
  • Managing Volunteers
  • Annual Campaigns
  • Making the Ask
  • And Much, Much More!

Program Applications Open August 8th and will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis.  Only complete applications will be processed. Note that having a full-time fundraiser is required for the funded option.  Limited funding exists, so submit Funded MAP 2.0 Application now.  Awardees will be notified via email.

Academies with a part-time or volunteer fundraiser are welcome to apply for the unfunded option below.

Model Academy Philanthropy Program 2.0 (Unfunded Option)

The MAP 2.0 Unfunded Option exists to increase the number of academies able to participate in the program.  The requirements of having a full-time fundraiser will be relaxed, although having one is preferable for both application and the running of a successful fundraising program.  Note that fundraiser, group training will occur during work hours, will not be recorded, and attendance is required.  Due to the rigorous schedule, make-up sessions will not be possible. Limited slots for the unfunded MAP 2.0 Program exist, so submit Unfunded MAP 2.0 Application now.
